MARSHFIELD, Mass. (WHDH) -

A High School Spanish teacher learned her lesson last Friday after she wound up giving birth on her bathroom floor.

Sarah Bachi wasn’t feeling well at school all day, she even ignored her contractions telling fellow teachers she would be fine, but they knew better.

"We all knew that she wasn't feeling quite well, and my boss came in and said ‘can you follow her home?’ She tried to escape me when I tried to follow her home,” Karen Lehmann said.

Lehmann was persistent and made it to Bachi’s house just in time.

"I think she was in shock. And I think I was in denial the whole time until I said ‘call 911 I can feel the head,’ then she came in told me to push, and he came out,” Bachi said.

Baby Eric was born just one hour after his mom left school for the weekend.

"Up until I walked into the bathroom and I saw wow, the baby is coming. I really didn't believe that it was going to happen that way,” Lehmann said.

Bachi and her new son Eric were taken to the hospital, but they are back at home and he is a perfectly healthy baby boy.
