Teen hospitalized after Needham hit and run

Posted: Updated:
NEEDHAM, Mass. (WHDH) - Needham Police are looking for a driver who they say left the scene after hitting a teenager.

17-year-old Kailey Wasserman was in the crosswalk when she was struck and the car sped away.

Femi Wasserman, the victim's stepmother, says the Medfield Senior High School student lost her two front teeth after she fell face-first into a sidewalk, had some bone fragment in her jaw and several cuts and bruises as a result of the crash.

Kailey was also getting ready for the junior prom on Friday.

"Now, six days before her prom she has two missing teeth, and now we don't know what we're going to do or how we're going to get her ready to go. So, she's pretty devastated. She feels extremely fortunate to be alive and that it wasn't worse," Femi said.

The family would like to speak to the driver and ask them "what would they want for someone they cared about...if this was their sister, brother, that they loved, what would they want someone to do?"
