Officials investigating arson in Southbridge

Posted: Updated:
SOUTHBRIDGE, Mass. (WHDH) - Southbridge and state fire officials are investigating three fires that were set in the Cohasse Street neighborhood Friday night.

A fire broke out in a 3-family home at around 10:30 p.m. Two smaller fires were also discovered in the area.

Officials are saying that the fires are similar to those set in the neighborhood three weeks ago and have set up increased patrols in the area.

"We need the eyes and ears of the public to catch the person or people responsible for these fires," said Southbridge Police Chief Daniel Charette.

Anybody with any information is asked to contact the Southbridge Police Department at (508) 764-5420 or the statewide arson hotline at (800) 682-9229.
