While we’ve had Spring weather come in brief spurts, it’s been tough for the milder air to stick around until now. Apparently, all we had to do was turn the calendar page to May, and voila, the 60s can stick around.
So we do have the 60s the next several days, and although it’ll be mostly dry, once and a while we have to track a passing shower or thunderstorm. A couple of those passing showers still have to work through southeast Mass this morning. Then, mid to late afternoon, a pop-up shower or storm is possible northwest of Boston. The overall coverage area of leftover rain runs 20%, so more towns stay dry than wet. Even if your town picks up a shower, it won’t take up much time, still allowing for a mostly dry day.
Saturday afternoon pretty much mirrors this afternoon with a pop-up shower or thunderstorm for a few towns, mainly north and west of the city.
Sunday, quite a bit of cold air aloft and an energetic disturbance in the atmosphere, rotate through New England. While we’ll get our dry hours and temperatures into the 60s, scattered showers and thunderstorms are more widespread early to mid afternoon. With that cold air and instability aloft, small hail and gusty winds are possible in any storm that passes through.
If you’re heading into town Sunday to join 7News and Project Bread for the Walk For Hunger, the weather should work out overall with morning temps in the 50s. The shower/storm chance won’t pick up until just after Noon. Hope to see you there!
