New video may show vehicle in Rockland abduction

Posted: Updated:
ABINGTON, Mass. (WHDH) - Police are looking at surveillance video from a store in Abington where a man who kidnapped a boy may have gone.

Police continue to look for surveillance video that may show a silver or white car, which the suspect was believed to be driving when he picked up the boy in Rockland after school.

“They called in a specialist that came in today for about 4 hours and downloaded all of my video with the times that they're looking for analyzing as we speak,” Dave Brennan, the store’s owner said.

Police are paying attention to the video at Brennan's store because of something the boy told investigators.

“He said they might have pulled into my parking lot so that's why they're spending a lot of time on my video,” Brennan said.

The boy told police he thought it was a family friend leading him to a car after school Tuesday, but it turned out to be a stranger.

The 9-year-old said he was driven around for about 25 minutes from Rockland three miles down the road into Abington where he was let out unharmed.

Brennan is hoping police get the clue they need to solve the case soon.

“I kind of welled up thinking someone may want to hurt a kid, it's really pretty emotional to be honest with you, you don't get any scarier than that,” he said.

Police have not released any new information but many hope they will find video that helps them identify the suspect.
