Court documents detail torture of girls in North Andover

Posted: Updated:
NORTH ANDOVER, Mass. (WHDH) - Police said a man beat, tortured, and sexually abused his two stepdaughters from September 2008 to February 2013.

In court documents, the girls, now 14 and 15, told police if they said anything their stepfather did not approve of, "he would grab a pair of pliers and pull the girls' tongues."

Police said one of the girls claimed the stepfather was a "white supremacist" who had "White Power" tattooed on his stomach.

She said he used "derogatory racial slurs" against them because they are biracial.

The house, under new ownership, is now being renovated for homeless veterans after the family moved out more than a year ago.

John Ratka of the Veterans Northeast Outreach Center said the inside of the house was...

"There were sayings, white power sayings, there were swastikas, it was all over, it wasn't just a few things, it was throughout the building. Down here in the basement, there were at least 20 cages for pit bulls, he was raising pit bulls," Ratka said.

The girls are now in the custody of the DCF and the stepfather is being held without bail.
