Swans return to Boston Public Garden

Posted: Updated:
BOSTON (WHDH) - The 26th Annual Return of the Swans welcomed swans Romeo and Juliet back to the Boston Public Garden Lagoon on Wednesday.

Mayor Marty Walsh, Interim Parks Department Commissioner Chris Cook and others were on hand to welcome the birds to their seasonal home.

The swans have been swimming in Franklin Park. They'll be at the Public Garden for the summer and return to their other home in the fall.

The event, which was hosted by the Parks and Recreation department, featured the park rangers reading "Make Way for Ducklings" and then a children's parade around the lagoon.

The swans were carted around the lagoon before being let into the water.
