BOSTON (WHDH) -

Boston Mayor Marty Walsh is pushing for a pay raise for the police commissioner.

The Boston Globe reported Walsh filed an ordinance with the city council that would allow him to pay Commissioner William Evans up to $200 thousand per year.

Evans current salary is nearly $175 thousand.

Many salary ranges for department heads have remained the same since 2006.
