While it was a long stretch from beautiful Spring-like weather we like to see, overall, it was small step in the right direction. Temps did near 50 this afternoon, and showers were more scattered about, vs. the consistent rain we had yesterday.
Isolated showers near day’s end continue to fade away early this evening, yielding to a quiet overnight with partial clearing. That partial clearing allows for some partial sunshine tomorrow morning before mostly cloudy skies take back over in the afternoon. Highs tomorrow range from the low 50s at the coast to the low 60s inland.
As an area of high pressure to our north and northeast wedges itself in Monday night and Tuesday, some low level moisture pushing across our area Monday night produces low clouds and spotty sprinkles. That low level moisture gets forced west of us on Tuesday, allowing for a dry day and some sun. The only issue Tuesday is that onshore wind again that’s fairly strong. That’ll hold highs in the upper 40s at the coast, and lower 50s inland.
That high is stubborn and slow to move and that means as rain approaches us from our west, it’ll take it’s time getting in here, and through here. Rain moves in Wednesday afternoon, as as onshore winds continue, highs are stuck in the mid 40s. Soaking rains and rumbles of thunder are possible Wednesday night, into Thursday with a potential 1-2″ of rain to fall across the area.
Behind the system, we’ll shake off those onshore winds and try to bring back milder air. In fact, look for mid to upper 60s Friday-Sunday. There still could be a few scattered afternoon showers around, especially Saturday afternoon, but the overall trend is better.
