Britain's Royal Family bids Australia farewell

Posted: Updated:
CANBERRA, Australia (AP) - Britain's Prince William has bid farewell to Australia in the only speech of his national tour, revealing that his baby son George has become particularly fond of a toy native animal during the visit.

Duke of Cambridge told a reception on Thursday at Australia's Parliament House in the national capital Canberra that he and his wife Kate "go away with wonderful memories and George goes away with a cuddly wombat that he's taken to chewing so lovingly."

William, Kate and George leave Canberra after veterans' day commemorations on Friday, ending a three-week tour of Australia and New Zealand.
