Information is coming out about a major security breach that could affect nearly 9,000 people who have a Tufts health plan.
Tufts Health Plan said they weren't hacked, but a lot of personal information for their customers is now out there.
The information belongs to current and former members of the "Tufts Medicare Preferred Program".
The information stolen includes names, birth dates and social security numbers.
Tufts Health said no personal medical information or health information was compromised.
Tufts officials are apologizing for the breach, which they said they found out about, because of a federal investigation.
They're providing credit monitoring for customers who are affected or worried about their information being exposed.
