Deep ocean storm was to thank for today’s howling wind, tossed trash/recycle bins, broken tree branches, etc. Could have been a lot uglier…check out that snow across Northern Maine! Cool, dry air was moving in across the area on those winds. Sun offset it as we managed to make the upper 50s, but tonight’s a chilly one with lows falling to freezing or below in many of the suburbs.
Pleasant day coming tomorrow. Less wind, tons of sun, and a recovery to the low/mid 60s. Soak it up folks, there’s not much in the way of warmth or sun in the next week to ten days as storms come to New England to both drop rain AND slowly decay. That second part to the pattern is the one that will keep us cool and raw. It’s a familiar setup in the spring (and sometimes early summer), so we have high confidence that you’ll need rain gear and sweaters right through the start of May.
After dropping close to an inch of rain, Saturday’s storm should slowly sneak away on Sunday morning. I’m hopeful for sun in the afternoon, but it’s not a bright blue sky. The next rain event will be delayed until Wednesday afternoon, but once it gets here, another 1-2″ of rain could come our way. This particular storm is a huge water maker for the Midwest and Mid South early next week, so it should be a headline maker by the time it gets to us.
