BU's women's basketball coach resigns amid scandal

Posted: Updated:
BOSTON (WHDH) -

The head coach of Boston University's women's basketball team has stepped down, amid a bullying scandal.

Kelly Greenberg announced her departure Tuesday night after coaching at BU for nearly a decade.

The university had been investigating claims that four former players quit the team because Greenberg emotionally abused them.

In a statement she wrote, "I do not agree with some of the findings of the review panel regarding my coaching style, which was intended to produce well-rounded athletes and a winning team. However, given all that has transpired, I do not believe that it will be possible for me to continue as an effective coach at Boston University."

Greenberg overcame similar accusations by two players six years ago.
