Accused bomber's friends ask for out-of-state trial

Posted: Updated:
BOSTON (WHDH) - Three friends of the accused Boston Marathon bomber, Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, asked to have their cases tried out of state.

Azamat Tazhayakov and Dias Kadyrbayev are accused of taking Tsarnaev's laptop and backpack out of his dorm room days after the bombing, and Robel Phillipos is accused of lying to authorities.

Tazhayakov's lawyer argued his client could not get a fair trial in Massachusetts because of the intense publicity surrounding the case.

Tsarnaev was accused of placing two bombs at the marathon finish line last year and setting them off with his brother.

He faces a 30-count indictment and is scheduled to go on trial in November.
