2 injured after fire in Roxbury apartment building

ROXBURY, Mass. (WHDH) - Two are injured after a 2-alarm fire was extinguished in an apartment building in Roxbury Sunday evening.

Officials responded to the 4-story building on Brookledge St. where they saw smoke coming from the second floor.

The fire extended to the third floor before responders were able to put out the flames.

A woman and a child were transported by Boston EMS for smoke inhalation.

The fire chief estimates the damage at $250,000. No word on how many residents will be displaced.

Fire officials are investigating the cause of the incident.
