MassArt students say fake bomb at finish line is not safe art

Posted: Updated:
BOSTON (WHDH) - Kevin Edson, the student accused of carrying a fake bomb to the Boston Marathon finish line, was a student at Mass. College of Art and Design.

The school released a statement Wednesday saying they were willing to work with officials during the investigation.

Students at the 2,500 student college say what Edson reportedly did was not representative of what students believe.

“It might have been expressive of his art but I doubt that’s a statement that most of us would at MassArt agree with,” David Cote said.

Edson, 25, was in a performance art program at the school.

“It no longer becomes art when it endangers everybody or makes a dangerous situation,” Victor Alvarez said.
