Tobin Bridge lane restrictions start Sunday night

Posted: Updated:
BOSTON (WHDH) - Commuters who use the Tobin Bridge should expect delays starting Sunday night.

Steel preservation, repair work and painting will result in the closing of one of the travel lanes. The restrictions will remain in effect through the fall.

Workers are resuming construction on the Tobin Bridge in the final year of the three-year, $44.8 million project.

MassDOT is encouraging motorists to join E-ZPass due to the bridge's all-electronic tolling, set to go into effect in 2014.
