Cold fronts are like people…sometimes they take naps. We have a cool front draped across New England at this time but it has become rather sleepy. These fronts–when awake–are great producers of clouds, showers (and sometimes thunderstorms). We have seen a few showers overnight but right now we only have a bunch of clouds & some sprinkles. It’s still a good idea to bring the umbrella/rain gear even though it will be on “standby” for much of the day. In fact, some sun is also possible at times. Later today & more likely this evening our cool front will wake up from its nap & pop some showers across southern New England. Bets chance of any steady rain will be around 7pm and lasting until midnight.

The weekend looks dandy. Some early morning clouds tomorrow (a stray shower on Cape Cod until 6am) and then developing sunshine through the morning and lasting for the rest of the weekend. Temps both days away from the chilly waters edge will reach the upper 60s to around 70. Along the coast–especially the South Shore, South Coast, Cape/Islands plan on temps much cooler….50s to around 60 (even upper 40s on the south facing beaches of the Cape/Buzzard’s Bay). All in all, a fantastic weekend for outdoor activities across southern New England.

As we look into next week, some really wild weather on tap. Monday is our first really warm day of teh season with many inland towns near 80 (coastal towns in the 60s/70s). Then a powerful arctic front crashes into New England late in the day Tuesday sending our temps from the 70s down to the 40s for daytime highs on Wednesday. More on that next week, enjoy the fabulous weekend!
