Man's car rear-ended into a Watertown Dunkin Donuts

WATERTOWN, Mass. (WHDH) -

A car crashed straight into a Dunkin' Donuts in Watertown, but it wasn’t the driver’s fault.

Richard Corbett said he was just trying to get his morning coffee when he got rear ended.

Corbett said he was trying to pull into a parking space here along Mt. Auburn Street when he said a woman driver didn't see him, and smashed right into him.

“I was coming in off Mt. Auburn Street. I was coming in to park. I was just waiting for someone else to come out. I had my blinker on and a young woman wasn't paying attention, and just looked up too late, rear-ended me, and I went into the building,” he said.

Corbett’s Nissan smashed into the front of the Dunkin Donuts. The nose of the car went into the building, hitting the counter.

He was able to get out of his car and suffered no injuries. Corbett said the other driver was pretty shaken up.

The store was closed for several hours but reopened Thursday afternoon.
