Car crashes into Fitchburg liquor store

Posted: Updated:
FITCHBURG, Mass. (WHDH) - Police are still trying to figure out how a car ended up inside a Fitchburg liquor store Wednesday afternoon.

The car jumped the curb in front of Wyman's Liquors and drove through a window. The driver tried to back up out of the store but was unable. The car was later towed.

The owner said there were customers and employees in the store at the time but none of them were injured.

"Initially I thought it was a couple of shelves. Somebody might have, I don't know, knocked over... I came out and saw a car come through the cooler. It was just disbelief," said employee Adam Jacob.

The driver was taken to the hospital where he has undisclosed injuries.

Police aren't sure if charges will be filed against the driver, but the investigation is still open.
