Former Patriot Spikes angers fans on Twitter

Posted: Updated:
FOXBOROUGH, Mass. (WHDH) - Former Patriot Brandon Spikes caused some anger on Twitter Wednesday after divulging that he didn't like playing with the team.

"It's icing on my cake to hand the #Patriots two big L's this year," Spikes said in a tweet, hoping to beat the Pats this season.

Spikes, 26, spent four years with the Patriots, but his Twitter bio says he's "free at last."

Fans are reacting negatively to the tweets.

"That is the sign of a person with no character. I'm sorry. But that is just uncalled for. I mean you watch Peyton Manning and Brady, they always act like professional athletes. They never put each other down. And they're in high positions," said fan Linda Robins.

The linebacker signed a one-year, $3.25 million contract with the Buffalo Bills during the off season.
