City leaders look to improve inter-agency communication

Posted: Updated:
BOSTON (WHDH) - Tuesday, April 15 will mark the one-year anniversary of the Boston Marathon bombing.

Three people were killed and hundreds injured and as the date gets closer city leaders are discussing the lessons learned from the response.

Leaders said they are looking for insight on how government agencies can work together to better manage and share information with the hope of increasing public safety.

"The real heroes that whole week were the folks who worked in the medical tents, because anyone who was taken to the medical tent was saved. They're the real heroes of that day. But you know, I saw the spirit of the state police, Boston police, FBI, and ATF all working together? Wow, that's special. That never happens. But that week it happened,” former Boston Mayor Tom Menino said.
