Easing Into Spring

Highs in the mid to upper 50s Sunday with lots of sunshine. Highs in the mid to upper 50s Sunday with lots of sunshine.
A great day Sunday at Fenway Park for baseball... the seats in the sun will feel much warmer compared to the last couple games. A great day Sunday at Fenway Park for baseball... the seats in the sun will feel much warmer compared to the last couple games.
Despite lots of clouds through the day, the occasional break of sun was enough to warm us up into the lower to middle 50s.  That, and a westerly wind today, instead of yesterday's east wind off the water, allowed for a milder day.

It was a step in the right direction, and we'll continue that momentum for the second half of the weekend as plenty of sunshine returns and temps warm into the middle to upper 50s.  We'll still catch a bit of a breeze Sunday, but overall, the sunshine should help us out, allowing it to feel a bit warmer out there.

Monday, away from the coast, we'll be in the lower 60s with 50s at the coast.  Plenty of sunshine starts the day with increasing clouds arriving in the afternoon.

Those increasing clouds foreshadow a soaking rain for all of us overnight Monday as 1.0-1.5" drops on the area.  With rivers and streams running on the high side thanks to last weekend's deluge, we'll watch for minor flooding to reoccur.  The saving grace with this system is the fact that it's a quick hitter, in fact, most of the rain falls within 12 hours, meaning by Tuesday morning, the rain's tapering off.  With any breaks of sunshine arriving Tuesday afternoon, temperatures surge into the mid 60s.

Cool air rushes in for Wednesday as highs hold near 50, then we're back to near or above 60 to end the week.   All and all,  I'd say we're easing our way into Spring.  By this time next week, I'm willing to bet that lawn starts showing more green and those flower beds continue to show signs of new growth.

Enjoy the rest of the weekend!
