Boston waitress saves choking customer

BOSTON (WHDH) -

A Boston waitress is being called a life saver after helping a customer in need.

Tiffany Byrne was working Monday afternoon, when a waitress raced back into the kitchen asking if anyone knew how to perform the Heimlich maneuver.

Byrne ran out and quickly helped the choking customer. She said everyone else was panicking so she knew she had to stay calm.

“In those types of situations you have to be calm to handle yourself and I had more anxiety about something happening to this poor lady, and I didn’t want it to get to that,” Byrne said.

Emergency crews arrived and checked the customer out, but instead of leaving, she decided to finish her lunch.
