Harvard report of Marathon bombings praises emergency responders

Posted: Updated:
CAMBRIDGE, Mass. (WHDH) -

A new Harvard report is praising the emergency response to the Boston Marathon bombings.

The report said years of training by public safety agencies and cooperation between them led to a fast and effective response.

The report also made some recommendations.

Researchers found the response suffered when officers started acting as individuals and not units.

The report also suggests more discipline when firing shots. Hundreds were fired in the shootout in Watertown days after the bombings.
