Barnstable officers have close call with downed power line

Posted: Updated:
BARNSTABLE, Mass. (WHDH) - An explosion after a downed power line made it a close call for a pair of Barnstable police officers directing traffic Saturday.

They were moving cars along after responding to a transformer explosion that shut down Main St. in Hyannis. However, a second power line fell and sparked another explosion.

That started a fire just a few feet away from them.

Nobody was hurt due to either downed power line.
