Temps run in the 30s to start this Friday, and with a bit of a wintry mix across Southwest New Hampshire and northern Worcester County, there’s a winter weather advisory in place until 10AM. Any precipitation this morning remains outside 495, and is along a warm front that’ll bring us 50s this afternoon. We’ll also have a gusty wind today out of the southwest, gusting 30-40mph. Late afternoon and early this evening, we’ll have a passing shower or two moving through the entire area.
Weekend Soaker Ahead:
Saturday actually starts off dry, in fact, if you’re looking for several dry hours to get some yard work done or run errands, Saturday morning – midday is the timeframe to do it as wet weather starts to settle in by mid to late afternoon.
Rain is heavy at times Saturday night, through Sunday with showers lingering into Monday. Before it’s all said and done, 2-4″ of rain is likely across much of the area. Rivers and streams should be able to handle most of the new water, but we’ll keep an eye on locations that pick up over 3″ for some minor flooding. Also, we’ll keep an eye along the coastline Sunday, into Monday. As the storm turns up the tides over multiple high tide cycles, we’ll guard against possible coastal flooding during high tide Sunday and Monday. Winds are more north than east, so the north facing shorelines have the best chance of seeing beach erosion and coastal flooding. Winds gust Sunday afternoon into Monday 35-50mph at the coast.
