UNDATED (WHDH) -

There is more good news for the 7-year-old Rhode Island boy who celebrated his birthday with police and firefighters.

Tyler Seddon, who is battling leukemia, is now nearly in remission. His mother made the announcement in a post on Facebook.

Tyler's leukemia cells have decreased from 5 percent to three .03 percent. He is still waiting for a bone marrow match.

Hundreds of first responders from around the country came to Rhode Island earlier in March to give Tyler a special birthday party.
