Danny Keefe and friends recognized by Boston Bruins

Posted: Updated:
BOSTON (WHDH) - Danny Keefe used to get bullied in school for his speech issues and fashion choices, but his friends stepped up to defend him and Thursday night they were all VIPs at the Boston Bruins game.

The 7-year-old and his friends made the trip from their hometown of Bridgewater to Boston where they sat in luxury seats at the TD Garden and got to meet Bruins stars like Patrice Bergeron.

Danny's parents have been overwhelmed with all the support that has been pouring in since his friends made news for defending him against bullies.

"You come out to something like with the Bruins organization, which we’ve always loved. It just goes to show you what a class act the Bruins are,” Danny’s dad Mark Keefe said.

Danny enjoys wearing suits to school so Bruins players gave him their ties and men's clothier Mr. Sid is making Danny a custom suit.

"For him to be here and to enjoy the game and to be with all his friends was just truly amazing,” Danny’s mom Jennifer Keefe said.

This was the first bruins game for a few of Danny's friends and it will be a tough one for them to top.
