Whiteout conditions force drivers off road on Cape

Posted: Updated:
SANDWICH, Mass. (WHDH) - Whiteout conditions on Cape Cod Wednesday morning made it tough for drivers to stay on the road.

Police said several cars have gone off the road as winds gust at around 50 miles per hour in Sandwich.

Meanwhile, coastal flooding and power outages remain a concern on the South Shore and around Cape Cod.

NStar said that around 228 customers are without power at around noon.

So far, there hasn't been any severe flooding, but some oceanfront businesses have sustained minor damage. Sandwich building inspectors are checking to make sure conditions are safe.
