Massachusetts Maritime Academy announced that Captain Richard Phillips will speak at this year’s commencement ceremony.
Phillips is a New England native and graduate of the school. He’s going to receive an honorary degree during the ceremony.
Phillips’ real-life ordeal as a hostage of Somali pirates was the subject of the movie “Captain Phillips.”
