MILTON, Mass. (WHDH) -

Eight grade students from Milton’s Pierce Middle School are lending their voices to a song that will be played before this year’s Boston Marathon.

The song ‘I Will Run Again’ was written in the wake of last year’s marathon bombing.

“I just think the song has such an inspiring message that we can all get up and run again,” Grace Varela, one of the eighth grade singers, said.

As a kid, Grace says it was scary to watch the tragedy unfold. Chorus Director Dawn Sykes said she hopes the song has a way of helping everyone, young and old alike, heal after the tragedy.

The song is already inspiring Jillian Baker who was 25 feet away from the second bomb outside Forum. She said she plans to listen to it as she runs this year’s race.

Once the song is complete it will be available for free download on the Run Again Project's website.
