FBI agent acted in defense during fatal shooting of friend of marathon suspect

Posted: Updated:
UNDATED (WHDH) - On Tuesday, a Florida prosecutor released a report on the deadly shooting of a friend of the marathon bombing suspect.

The Florida state attorney cleared the FBI agent, saying he acted in self defense.

"My conclusion is that the actions of the Special Agent of the FBI were justified in self-defense and in defense of another," a Florida State Attorney said.

Ibragim Todashev was killed by an FBI agent last May. At the time, he was being questioned about suspected bomber Tamerlan Tsarnaev. Todashev admitted to being involved in a 2011 triple murder in Waltham, which investigators believe Tsarnaev was also involved in.

Special agents on the scene said Todashev hit one of them and then threatened them with a pole, forcing them to shoot and kill him.
