Armed men ransack Worcester home with children inside

Posted: Updated:
WORCESTER, Mass. (WHDH) - Three kids were home alone Thursday night when a group men, some armed, forced their way into the house.

Police say the home invasion happened around 11 p.m. Thursday night and that at least one of the five or six men was carrying a gun.

Neighbors say the neighborhood is usually quiet.

"This neighborhood is not really that crazy. If it is happening and I didn't hear about it I'm not worried about it,” Ikeman Pride said.

The three children are 16, 12 and 5-years-old. Police believe the middle child answered a knock at the door and that’s when the men forced their way in and started ransacking the home.

The mom returned home as the men were still inside, they ran out the back but not before one of them punched the oldest child in the face.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Worcester Police Department at (508) 799-8600.
