Woman rushed to MGH after stroke on an airplane

Posted: Updated:
BOSTON (WHDH) - When Linda Keir was on an airplane from Scotland to Boston the unthinkable happened, she had a stroke.

The plane was still two hours away from Logan Airport, but a doctor on board notified the pilot and he got on the ground as soon as possible.

As soon as the plane landed Keir was rushed to Mass. General Hospital.

“There was nothing I could do, nothing I could do. When they were asking me question I couldn’t answer them. I just remember seeing my hand and not being able to move my hand, and not being able to move my leg,” Keir said.

Keir was given a drug that reverses the conditions of a stroke, and rushed into surgery.

She is now speaking again and even walking around.
