Man claims to be federal agent for free MBTA ride

Posted: Updated:

The U.S. Secret Service is on the lookout for a man who pretended to be an agent so he wouldn't have to pay the fare on an MBTA commuter train.

A passenger started recording a video as the confrontation heated up.

“You don't mess with the Secret Service. I'll tell you that right now. I don't care who you are. You're just a conductor on a train. Don't interrupt my investigation. All right, tough guy?” the ‘fake agent’ said.

But police believe the man isn't a member of the Secret Service, the agency he said he works for as he gets up and goes after the train conductor.

The ‘fake agent’ continued to make a scene...

“What do you work for Al Qaeda? What are you a terrorist?” he said.

MBTA police worked with the Boston Secret Service office and have identified the man from the video. Officers plan on interviewing the man soon.

Impersonating a federal officer is a felony susceptible to jail time.

The time and rail line that the incident occurred on is unknown.
