LAWRENCE, Mass. (WHDH) -
Police in Lawrence are looking for the public’s help identifying a man who they believe shot two people after a bar fight.
A surveillance camera captured the wild bar fight, which may have started over one man looking at another man's girlfriend, Sunday night at the Pollo Tipico.
A third man involved in the fight can be seen in the video reaching into his waistband for a gun.
The man then started waving the gun in the air, but didn’t start shooting inside.
"It was a very small confined area with approximately 30 to 40 people in it. If it had erupted into gun violence inside it would have been very serious indeed,” Lawrence Police Chief James Fitzpatrick said.
Outside the bar, police said the man with the gun started firing. One shot hit the man he had been fighting with in the bar and another hit a security guard.
Police said the suspect was wearing a USA soccer shirt with the number 10 on it. He also has a tattoo on his left bicep.
"Someone that would do something this desperate in front of 40 plus witnesses is obviously very dangerous and someone we’d like to take off the street,” Fitzpatrick said.
The two victims were hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries.
Anyone with information is asked to call the Lawrence Police Department at (978) 794-5900.
