Yawkey Station opens on Worcester Commuter Rail line

BOSTON (WHDH) - Governor Deval Patrick and other involved in the Commuter Rail celebrated Monday as the new Yawkey Station opened.

The stop, which is now fully accessible and allows for increased service for the Fenway and Longwood Medical area, is along the Worcester-Framingham Line.

“We've been dedicated to investing in our transportation infrastructure because that's an important way to grow jobs, to stimulate the economy, to improve the quality of life, and that's what Yawkey Station is about,” Gov. Patrick said,

There will also be a new schedule for the Worcester Line with more trains coming into and leaving Boston each day.
