Leominster firefighters shave heads to show support

LEOMINSTER, Mass. (WHDH) -

Leominster firefighters stepped up to the plate, all to help out a fellow firefighter and his daughter.

Tony Lefebvre's daughter, 20-year-old Danielle was recently diagnosed with Hodgkin’s lymphoma and begins chemo on Monday.

"In support to her, myself and a bunch of fellow firefighters, friends and family came down to shave our heads," Tony said.

Danielle even shaved her hair.

"I'm feeling good, nice new haircut,” she said.

The Lefebvre family was overwhelmed with the incredible outcome. Almost three dozen firefighters, friends and family members shaved their heads Monday.

"Obviously they're going to have a long battle ahead of them and anything we can do to help with that and by all of us here today shows a lot of support," family friend, Robert Cidleau said.

Danielle has about six months of treatment ahead of her.
