The father of Sandy Hook shooter Adam Lanza said he wishes his son had never been born.
Peter Lanza spoke publicly about his son for the first time, to The New Yorker magazine.
His son is accused of killing students and teachers at a Connecticut elementary school, as well as his mother.
Peter Lanza said, “You can't get any more evil. How much do I beat up on myself about the fact that he's my son? A lot.”
Authorities said Adam Lanza killed his mother before going to Sandy Hook Elementary School and killing 20 students and six staff members, then himself in December 2012.
“The reason he shot Nancy four times was one for each of us, one for Nancy, one for him, one for [his brother] Ryan, one for me,” Peter Lanza said.
Peter Lanza also said his son saw several mental health professionals, but none saw violent tendencies.
