Nine guns and five arrests made in 15-hour span in Boston

BOSTON (WHDH) - Boston Police have seized nine illegal guns and arrested five individuals in a 15-hour span.

The three unrelated incidents in which the guns were seized were all in Mattapan.

Police also uncovered ammunition, drugs and drug paraphernalia as a result of the three warrants.

19-year-old Jesor Brown of Roslindale, 22-year-old James Edwards of Dorchester, 23-year-old Jesus Gonzalez of Dorchester, 22-year-old Lino Cook of Dorchester and 29-year-old Rickie Thompson of Mattapan were all arrested and charged with various firearm violations.

"I can't say enough about the great work being done by the men and women of the Boston Police Department," said Police Commissioner William Evans.

This brings the total number of guns seized since the start of 2014 to 110.
