Cape Cod student hit in the head with metal object after class

BARNSTABLE, Mass. (WHDH) - Police at Cape Cod Community College are investigating a violent attack that occurred Thursday afternoon.

Investigators say they are looking into a student’s report of being attacked with a metal object, and that he doesn’t know who hit him.

The student was leaving the North Building after class around 2 p.m. One of his friends saw the scene after the attack.

“I was walking out and they told me not to go down there and I peeked down and he was laying on the ground. When I peeked down he was telling them that he was hit with a crowbar but he doesn’t remember much afterwards,” Jesse Miller said.

Police said they found something in the trash, but they don’t know if it’s related to the attack. They say without any witnesses the investigation is even more difficult.

Students say that early afternoon is when campus is the busiest, and they are surprised no one saw the attack.

The victim is at home in Plymouth recovering from his injuries while police continue their investigation.
