Worcester men accused of shooting pedestrians with a pellet gun

Posted: Updated:
WORCESTER, Mass. (WHDH) - Two Worcester men have been arrested after allegedly shooting people walking and driving by with a pellet gun.

Police said the men, 19-year-old Christian Cruz and 20-year-old Kennie Cruz, were in a fourth floor apartment down an alleyway off Chandler Street. They say witnesses were able to point them in the direction of the shots and police found the men in an apartment with a pellet gun and pellet.

“They’re just as bad as real firearms. It’s just as dangerous. Aimed at a body or the head, toward the eye are is bad news,” Rich DeJesus, a Worcester resident, said.

Police said a woman driving by in her car was hit in the head, a man was hit in the head and the shoulder and another woman was struck in the leg.

"They were clearly out to hurt people and we are just thankful no one was seriously hurt and no accident was caused when that woman was hit while she was driving her vehicle," A Worcester Police Department spokesperson said.

The men face a number of charges including assault and battery with a dangerous weapon and firing a pellet gun in a public way. Both will appear in court Thursday.
