Harvard warning students about attack in Cambridge

Posted: Updated:
CAMBRIDGE, Mass. (WHDH) - Harvard University is warning students about an attack in Cambridge early Saturday morning.

A female unaffiliated with the university was walking along Memorial Drive near Plympton Street at around 12:50 a.m. when an unknown male took her wallet.

The victim struck the suspect, who then pushed the female to the ground. He fled toward JFK Street.

While the incident is being investigated by Cambridge police, Harvard sent out an alert to students reminding them to be alert because they are in an urban setting and "share many of the crime and safety issues that exist in any city."

If anyone has any information regarding this incident, please contact the Cambridge Police Department at (617) 349-3368.
