Vigil held at Fitchburg church for missing boy

Posted: Updated:
FITCHBURG, Mass. (WHDH) - A vigil was held in Fitchburg on Saturday for the local five-year-old boy who's been missing for months.

Jeremiah Oliver hasn't been seen since September, but people came together in Fitchburg at the First Parish Church to pray for the boy's safe return.

Oliver's father and uncle were at the vigil, along with the Fitchburg mayor and the chief of police.

Police didn't know the boy was missing for months. Employees from the Department of Children and Families have been fired after the organization admitted failures in the case.
