Man left cash envelope at Hingham bakery

Posted: Updated:
HINGHAM, Mass. (WHDH) - Police are looking for a man they believe left a large amount of money at a Hingham bakery last Friday.

According to surveillance video from White's Bakery at the Derby Street Shoppes, the man was making a purchase at the counter when he took out an envelope and put it on the counter. He finished the transaction and left, walking in the direction of the Apple store, leaving the envelope behind.

He didn't discuss the envelope or money with the clerk.

The clerk handed it over to the manager. When nobody came to claim the money, it was reported to the police.

The man is described as a middle-aged white male with thick dark hair. He was wearing dark pants, a dark jacket and tan shoes.

If you have any information on the true owner of this envelope, you are asked to contact Hingham Police Officer Eric Chessler at (781) 749-1212.
