A school budget battle may leave some kids off the bus next school year.
Starting next year, some Boston school students could be taking the T to school instead of a school bus.
The superintendent is trying to fill a budget gap. In a plan presented Wednesday night, part of the savings could come from taking 4,500 seventh and eighth graders off the bus and providing them with an MBTA semester pass instead.
The move could save the school department an estimated $11 million.
