MBTA launches Operation LIPSTICK

Posted: Updated:
BOSTON (WHDH) - The City of Boston and the MBTA have launched a new public service campaign to combat crime and save lives.

Riders on the T will soon see ads for Operation LIPSTICK, which stands for: Ladies Involved in Putting a Stop to Inner City Killings.

Mayor Marty Walsh and other city leaders debuted the ads Tuesday.

The campaign focuses attention on the consequences women face by providing guns to people who can't get guns legally.
