Teen battling terminal cancer dies in car accident

MERRIMACK, N.H. (WHDH) - A 14-year-old boy was fighting for his life against liver cancer and other serious diseases, but he lost his life last weekend; not from the illnesses but from a terrible car accident

Kobe Huynh was battling cancer but he died this weekend in a car crash. His father was at the wheel and charged with DWI.

Neighbors reacting to the tragedy and news that Nghia Huynh had been arraigned in his own son's death.

“He loved his dad, his dad loved him,” said Rosie Le, fiancée of father charged.

Le said she saw Nghia just before he went to pick up his son.

“I didn’t know he drink that night. He was at work with me before the accident and he’s okay. He didn't seem like he had alcohol in him,” Le said.

Nghia Huynh’s bail was set at $50,000. He's been charged with negligent homicide and driving under the influence. His probable cause hearing has been set for March 3.
