BOSTON (WHDH) -
Governor Deval Patrick isn't done with politics, in fact he's saying “maybe” to a future run for the White House.
When asked about a possible run for the presidency in the future, Governor Patrick said, "Maybe, maybe. That is decision I have to make along with my wife of 30 years. And she is a tough one to convince."
Patrick added time will tell. He wants to take a break after he leaves Beacon Hill next year, but has every intention of serving in the public sector sometime in the future.
“I’ve worked very closely with this guy for nine years and he doesn't say what he doesn't believe,” said John Walsh, Together PAC Exec. Director.
Patrick is in Washington for the National Governors Association Conference and was expected to meet with President Obama Monday morning.
“It is entirely up to Governor Patrick, what he decides to do in the future. But I have to say he is a man of great vision and great integrity. And that is what we should be looking for in a president,” said Senator Elizabeth Warren.
Previously Governor Patrick had always pretty much ruled everything out and said he is just happy being governor.
Patrick has ruled out a run in 2016, but perhaps 2020 at the earliest for a Deval Patrick for president campaign.
